The Frontline 1.60b Changelog

- Removed obscenely violent turbulence (factor of 6) (horrible, horrible idea)
- Added less violent turbulence (factor of 4)

Hey Aborted, the wind is actually worse now, way worse. Really strange, check it out whenever you can. Tx!  :salute:

The turbulence and the wind have been kicked up a notch over what it normally was, which was non-existent...which I don't like. There should be some interaction with a weather system in this game. This will effectively prevent a lot of unrealistic "sniper" shots that happen all too often in.

It's a new challenge, conquer it!

Dude, it's bad.

hahaha we can't even strafe tanks hahaha you should try it.

If you were trying to tone down what we had yesterday, you did just the opposite.

I personally don't get sick really but the insanity of my Stukas nose right now would definitely make some people turn this off.

Tanks are not going to be able to be destroyed by 37mm or rockets in the current conditions which limits gameplay options. If this was a series of missions and this was one of the weather conditions out of many I can see its use in a shorter mission to create a different or difficult experience.

The max reasonable m/s for turbulence is 1-2. Not sure how much wind factors into this but I know the turbulence setting matters far more than wind.

After posting I felt a bit guilty here for just reiterating the problem everyone else did so I went ahead and made a short video clip to add some more objectivity to the claims here.

https://youtu.be/7pVr467KI6Y

Stuka is at 420l of fuel, armored plates, bomb load 500kg 4x70kg. Zero manual control input during the video just auto level, flaps up airbrake up.

Loop that video for 20 minutes and thats what flying a mission is like in these conditions. Not good man :(

The wind/turbulence is pretty wicked. Its very hard to strafe vehicles.

You never saw what I was toning down as I only added the severe turbulence after everyone was out of the server, so it's immediately apparent that I see a placebo effect here. The only thing you saw was a turbulence factor of 1, which equals 0 turbulence, which is what the mission has been at the entire time since months ago.

I am disappointed in the reaction towards natural adversity in what should be a challenging situation. I'll be changing it to a lower factor, but there will be turbulence in the atmosphere still

Oh, now i get you. We were at 1 or zero but I as read your changelog I understood we were at 6 and then gone to 4. Ok we know what 4 is like, so now we just gotta test, maybe 3 is the best setting or not. 4 is just too much, but it could be interesting with bad weather, heavy rain...
