From 80hd on the IL2 Forum: Due to the performance issues we've been experiencing/you've been reporting recently, we've moved on trying new hardware in an attempt to alleviate the problem. We're hoping to gain some benefit out of slightly faster processor core speed (3.5ghz to 4.0ghz) as well as (fingers crossed) gaining some benefit from the virtualization layer.

We're not entirely sure as to how this will all pan out, as the underlying problem is undoubtedly bound to the fact that the dserver process refuses to make use of available system resources beyond a single core.

More as it develops!

New server hardware was effectively deployed and operational as of 9:00PM Eastern time on Sunday March 22nd. We have seen positive improvement in overall performance due to the increase in clock speed from 3.5ghz to 4.0ghz.

We will continue testing as the week progresses.

Salute and good hunting!
